Mathematics

Statistics and probability for JEE Main & Advanced — Bayes and distributions

How probability supports counting and mean/variance questions on both papers.

On JEE Main

Main tests conditional probability, Bayes theorem, Bernoulli trials, binomial distribution mean and variance, and basic measures of central tendency in single-correct MCQ format. Notation mistakes cause most wrong answers.

On JEE Advanced

Advanced uses multi-correct and integer formats where probability is embedded in geometry (geometric probability), combinatorial game problems, or Bayesian updating across multiple draws. Integer-type questions require exact fractional arithmetic in reduced form.

How to practise

Practise Statistics and Probability on PracticeJEE after P&C for cleaner event modelling.
