Frequently asked questions
How many years of JEE Advanced PYQs should I solve?
At least the last 6 years (2019–2024). Each year is set by a different IIT, so solving across years exposes you to distinct questioning styles.
Are JEE Advanced PYQs harder than JEE Main PYQs?
Yes, significantly. JEE Advanced tests application depth with multi-step problems, multi-correct options and partial marking. Attempt Advanced PYQs only after your JEE Main PYQ accuracy is above 80%.
How is JEE Advanced marked?
JEE Advanced has variable marking schemes by question type — full marks for correct, partial for multi-correct, and negative for wrong. The scheme changes slightly every year and is printed on the question paper.
